A Message from your State Chairman
Well, our first Mooserider State Rally was held in Mechanicsville Lodge over
the weekend of June 6,7 and 8th. It was very successful even though the
weather was not totally cooperative.
There was a Softail Deluxe given away along with several cash prizes. Our own James Murphy was a partner in a ticket that won $300. District 10 riders won a majority of the Bike Show categories. Way to go guys !! The District 9 Mooseriders saw a profit of about $10,000 for the event. I know they all worked very hard and to Peggy and Leon we all say thanks for the great time and take some time to recoup and relish in your success.
I know donations will be made to Victory Junction and a local Burn Unit as well as Moose International. Chris Ecker has said he will get with his people and find a charities for Mooseriders to adopt. Tony Martin from Bedford Sheriffs Dept. was there and spoke on Safesurfin and Blue Ridge Thunder and all 8 districts have each pledged $500 for a total of $4000 to the Safesurfin fund to be donated at the January Convention.
All in all, things went very well with no problems at all and there will be many pictures on the website in days to come. Look forward to seeing who steps up to announce next years rally. If you need more info or pics, please do not hesitate to contact me @ mrbojack@myway.com or 434-237-6500.
Note: see the News section for a Rally update from District 9 Chairman Leon Wainwright and Rally Chairperson Peggy Wainwright.
Scott Jachode
State Mooseriders Chairman
Welcome to the Virginia Moose Association Mooseriders Website. The Mooseriders were formed in December of 2004. We have suffered through the growing pains and organization hurdles and grown to a respectable size. We owe this growth to our members dedication to their fraternity and to the ability to have enough foresight to realize the enormous potential of such an endeavor. Our members have done a great job of supporting many Moose charities and lodge functions, not to mention community projects. Our participation in these community projects serves as a great opportunity to raise interest in our Fraternity as well as our Mooserider Committee. Please feel free to browse this website and if you need any more information, please contact a Mooserider chapter near you or use the contact info on this site. If you do not have a Mooserider chapter in your district and are interested in chairing one, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Thank you for your interest in the Virginia Moose Assoc. Mooseriders.

Post Convention Report “ What I wanted to say ” By Scott Jachode, Moose Riders State Chairman
As most of you know by now, Mooseriders is not an individual club project administered by a few members. It is a Family Activities-Special Committee approved by the Supreme Governor and the Executive Board of the V.M.A. I, Scott Jachode, belong to several local motorcycle clubs and enjoy riding with them and participating in their fundraising events. One thing that I noticed was that they all have a few Flagship projects a year and a couple local charitable events that are all supported greatly. I started thinking about the Moose. The Greatest Fraternity in the World, and why we are not using the new found motorcycle enthusiasm spreading the world over to support our charities, projects, lodges, and members. After a little research, I found a few Mooserider chapters nationwide and read what they had done and decided that the Virginia Moose Association MUST have their own Mooseriders organization. Well, you know what happened next. With the help of the Executive Board, we structured the Virginia Moose Association Mooseriders. The Mooseriders were officially started in Dec. 2004. I started attending district meetings throughout the state to set up individual Mooserider District Chapters. There was a lot of skepticism at first (still seems to be some). People saying things like “Sounds Good” Let me know when its doing something, the show me crowd. There was a lot of whispers and arguments about what we are, “bikers, biker trash, this isn’t a biker bar” etc. But we pushed on. Then we had a few members that said they would give it a try. They knew as well as I did that the potential was there. They knew that we could use something that we enjoy doing and have been doing for all these other clubs for so long, and use it to support our Fraternity, The Virginia Moose Association. These new District Mooserider Chairmen and their members are not “show me” people. They are “let me show you how” people. Following the conclusion of this report, you will see exactly what they all have done for us all. They are dedicated Moose members that have worked very hard at creating an organization from nothing, generated new Moose Association Membership, and raised a lot of money for Moose Charities and many community projects. We are very fortunate to have these people in our ranks. They are what we are all about. The “can do” and “will do” people are the ones that build great organizations like The Loyal Order of the Moose to begin with. To the past, current, and future Mooseriders, I am eternally grateful. I feel as if I have let some of these fine people down by not sharing with everyone their fine achievements. I have been focused to much on my district, my 2 business’s , and my family, which is of course #1. The state board consists only of myself and Mr. Tony Burns, State Sec’y. We do what we can, but could use more support, as in officers, and guidance. After this report is received by all, I will welcome all interested parties with open arms. We promise to be much more attentative to your wants and needs in the future. But we are not totally at fault either. We also need better communication from all parties involved and parties interested in becoming involved. Please check and use the new web site www.vamooseriders.com as I think it will help answer a lot of your questions and give you better insight into the Mooseriders.I now would like to recognize the aforementioned Men and Women that we owe so much to and to “show you” what they have done for us all.
The following is a brief report on membership, monies raised and charities supported. It does not include the many, many local and lodgewide activities that were held by the Mooseriders statewide.

In their short existence they donated to the Childrens Fund and supported a family that lost their home in a fire. They have since disbanded and need new leadership to continue. Am working on it. These are just a few of the main functions maintained by us. It is in no way even close to what we do on just about a daily basis for our Fraternity and Members. So, as you can see, we few people are doing our best to show you the potential, and now ask for you to rethink your original position and help us to help you. We need all District Chairmen and Lodge Administrators and their Boards of Officers to think about what we can do to benefit your Charities, Lodges, and members. You all know what can be done if you just believe and try. We have worked hard to show that we are dedicated and we are here to help. With your support and guidance we are poised to go to the next level of achievement. Our goal as Mooseriders is to create an organization that will be supporting our great Fraternity and its members long after we are all gone. With our members continued support and the future members support this will become a reality. Please, if the recipients of this report would just share this opportunity with your perspective boards and members , I assure you that we will be able to jointly achieve these goals. As always, my gratitude to all and please feel free to contact me at any time. Scott Jachode, Mooseriders State Chairman

Anyone who missed the rally missed the best thing you will enjoy this year. The weather was terrifically hot, but everyone found a place to cool off; whether on a poker run to King William Lodge where they enjoyed barbecue and fixins’ or an observation run to the Richmond International Raceway. The staff of District 9 Mooseriders went above and beyond duty to make the first rally one that will set a precedent for bigger and better ones in the future. The Bike show went off without a hitch, but we had to fill the field events with our own members because the heat just ran everyone inside to cool drinks and air conditioning. The Saturday night dance was a complete success; Southern Xcess band Provided County Rock, Outlaw Country, Skynard, Hank, Coe, Etc. Not exaggerating one bit, EVERYONE expressed so much appreciation of their talents. They were number one with the whole crowd. We are having them back often and very soon. Just before the dance began, the 2008 Harley Davidson Softail Deluxe in beautiful red was given away as well as over $2500 in other cash prizes. Our 50/50 and other raffle gave over $900 to the lucky winners. Much thanks to the vendors for enduring such heat they said they enjoyed the event. Also, thanks to Safe Surfin’ representative, Tony Martin, who spoke before dinner, Bill Everette for Parent Zentral and Kid Zentral, and B.A.C.A. (Bikers Against Child Abuse) who traveled from West VA. To be there. These three vendors work so hard for the good and safety of the world’s children both on the internet and in our everyday world. Again, thank you. The pig pickin’ in the pavilion was a welcome end to the busy day. The Saturday night dinner was a great success, prepared by Richmond East Lodge, and the Sunday breakfast buffet prepared by the Moose Legion was a nice send off, prepared by the Moose Legion. We were visited by Sonny Clay, Richmond East Lodge Pilgrim, spoken to by Scott Jachode State Mooserider Chairman, enjoyed the talks with Tony Burns, State Mooserider Secretary. Please relay our many thanks to all Mooseriders and friends who attended from your lodge or district. The State Rally will more than likely occur in a different district next year, and hopes are high that you will patronize the future ones also. But, you didn't see me,
playing Santa at the local mall.
But, you didn't see me,
attending a meeting to raise more money for the hurricane relief.
But, you didn't see me, and
my friends cut ten inches off for Locks of Love.
But, you didn't see me, and
my brothers donate our old coats and gloves to those that had none.
But, you didn't see me,
going home to be with my family.
But, you didn't see me,

But, you didn't see me.
Because, I died that day you cut me off.
