The Gimme 5
Endowment Campaign takes time to shift into high gear. We
need to reach the 98% of our members who have not yet
participated -
We all know personal communication is usually more successful -
easier to explain why and how - and less easy to be ignored.
We also know personal recognition is extremely important and,
quite often, a challenge or competition can stimulate more action
and better results. Our members also need to be recognized
for their accomplishments....with special recognition to those who
excel above all others.
We are introducing a new opportunity to reach more members.
It is similar to the sponsor recognition program. Simply
stated, we invite every donor to become a Gimme 5 sponsor of new
donors. We are asking you to "put your heart" into helping
to increase the Endowment Fund through Gimme 5. We ask that
you:
1. Download a page of 10 'referral' cards from the Moose Charities
website
2. Write your name and ID# on the 'referral' cards
3. Talk to members, relatives, and friends about Gimme 5.
Invite them to donate $36.50
or more. Remember - this is a tax deduction and anyone,
including non-members, can donate to Moose Charities
4. Give the 'referral' card to each first time donor and ask
that it be included with the donation of $36.50 or more
5. New donor sends 'referral' card and donation to Moose
Charities (credit card donations
can be made and the donor can type your name and ID number in the
referral box)
6. The donor's name and donation will be entered as well as your
name
7. When we receive the referral card, we will post your name on
the Moose Charities website and update it each time we receive a
new donor whom you have referred.
8. To be a contender for top recognition, a minimum of five
referrals is necessary - then the member with the most referrals
over five will be notified
9. The top two members in each Association (one LOOM/one WOTM)
will be recognized at the end of the 2009-2010 fiscal year
We hope this new incentive will help us reach more members and
have them join us in our continuing efforts to increase the
Endowment Fund. And we hope each of you will be active in
this new referral program.
Your memorial gift will serve as a
lasting tribute to the life of a friend or loved one. Unless
otherwise requested by the family or the donor, all memorial gifts will
be directed to the Mooseheart / Moosehaven Endowment Fund. The
interest earned on your gift will be used to help meet the daily needs
of the children at Mooseheart and the senior members at Moosehaven.
Memorial gifts from individuals, members, Lodges
and Chapters, businesses, and other groups or associations are all
welcome.
In Honor Of -
Honorary gifts serve as a lasting tribute and can be directed to any
fund requested.

Planned
giving is exactly as it sounds.
A donor
works with Moose Charities and creates an arrangement that reflects that
donor’s charitable intentions; whether through an estate plan or through
an immediate gift.
BEQUESTS
Some members believe that giving to Moose Charities
through their will is only for the very wealthy. However, this is not
the case. Members of any means, in all walks of life, leave money
to important causes in this way. This is a relatively easy way to
continue support, through your estate plan, of the important programs
offered at Mooseheart and Moosehaven.
Moose Charities Bequest Builder (click
here) (A three-step process to build a bequest and leave a
legacy benefiting Mooseheart, Moosehaven, or the Endowment Fund)
CHARITABLE GIFT ANNUITIES
In exchange for a gift of cash or property, Moose Charities agrees to
make fixed payments for the life of a donor (and perhaps their spouse).
This option is suitable for older donors who have cash or appreciated
property that produces little or no income.
CHARITABLE TRUST
Charitable Remainder Trust
A Charitable Remainder Trust is a life income gift that
pays income to you and/or other beneficiaries for a term of years or
until your passing. When the trust terminates, Moose Charities
receives the remainder of the trust.
Charitable Lead Trust
A Charitable Lead Trust is a gift that makes annual
contributions to Moose Charities for a term of years. The property
then passes to your heirs with substantial tax savings. You can
safeguard your estate for your heirs while you help support Mooseheart
and Moosehaven.
LIFE ESTATE RESERVED
Moose Charities accepts a gift of property, either a personal residence
or farm, and the donor retains the right to use the property for his or
her lifetime.
BARGAIN SALE
Moose Charities purchases property for less than the fair market value
or accepts a gift of mortgaged property.
Click Here to visit the Moose Charities Planned Giving Web site
Many companies match the
charitable contributions of their employees. You can double the impact
of your generosity by using your company's matching gift program. Visit
your Human Resources Department and ask for a matching gift form.

Workplace Giving Through United Way
If you participate
in a United Way giving campaign that allows donor designation of your
payroll deduction you may be able to select Moose Charities as the
beneficiary of your United Way gifts. If Moose Charities is not
listed as a member agency, please contact the campaign coordinator to
see if you can write in Moose Charities to be considered for your gift.
If you are able to write Moose Charities as your choice please provide
the following information: Moose Charities, Inc., 155 S. International
Dr., Mooseheart, IL 60539 and the federal tax-identification number
(36-3993740). As procedures do vary with each local or regional
campaign, please verify that you completed your designation correctly.

Please, advise your friends and Moose members that Moose Charities has
set up a relationship with
www.GoodSearch.com
which is a search engine powered by Yahoo. Other search engines
are Google, Yahoo, Ask Jeeves, and etc. They basically all do the
same thing which is to search the web by what you type in to look for.
GoodSearch
splits their advertising revenues with charities. Moose Charities
receives about 1 cent per use of
GoodSearch.
This money is earmarked for Mooseheart & Moosehaven.
When you use
GoodSearch as a search engine you will be asked to identify the
charity that you want to benefit. Please specify by typing in Moose
Charities (Mooseheart, IL) This is a painless way to raise income for
Mooseheart & Moosehaven.
To use GoodSearch all of the time as a search engine simply go to
www.GoodSearch.com
and click on "Favorites" then click on "add to favorites."
This is something that we can all do on a daily basis to raise money for
Mooseheart and Moosehaven.
If you have questions about this contact Moose Charities.
Best Fraternal Regards & God Bless All,
Moose Charities
The Wish list offers an opportunity to choose where your donation
dollars will be used within each operating budget. Your ongoing
support is needed because each member has the opportunity and
responsibility to assist not only in the future but the current
operating expenses for both Mooseheart and Moosehaven.
An individual, fraternal
unit or organization may choose from the items listed by contacting
Moose Chartities (630)966-2200. The fulfilled Wish List items will
be listed with donor names until the end of the fiscal year.
