     The Loyal Order of Moose is a fraternal and service organization founded in 1888, combining nearly 800,000 men in approximately 1,800 Lodges of the Loyal Order of Moose and more than 400,000 members in roughly 1,600 Chapters of the Women of the Moose, in 49 states and four Canadian provinces, plus Great Britain and Bermuda.

 

     The men and women of the Moose support the operation of Mooseheart Child City & School, a 1,000-acre community for children and teens in need, located 40 miles west of Chicago; and Moosehaven, a 72-acre retirement community for its members near Jacksonville, FL.  Additionally, Moose Lodges conduct between $70 million and $100 million worth of community service (counting monetary donations, volunteer hours worked, and miles driven) annually.

 

     The Virginia Moose Association became the 1st State Association, sanctioned by the Supreme Lodge in 1936.

We are comprised of 94 lodges, and 83 Women of the Moose Chapters.  It is because of our wonderful membership that we are what we have become today.  On behalf of all our membership and the Executive Board, we wish to welcome you to our fine State and hope you enjoy your visit and the fine hospitality.
